2008 Cotsen Institute of Archaeology Open House

It was that time of year again when the doors of all the labs within the Cotsen Institute are opened to visitors to come and learn about the types of project and research that are undertaken here. The UCLA/Getty Conservation lab participated again in the Open House inviting visitors to learn about the use of xrays and ultraviolet light for the examination of cultural materials and how to identify materials such as bone, ivory and imitation ivory.

Several students from the Class of 2008 attended this year's AIC Annual Conference in Denver, CO (April 21-24,2008) and presented on various projects completed during their studies. [more]

Class of 2008 to present on their MA thesis research

On June 3, 3rd year students will be presenting on their MA thesis research projects at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, UCLA. These presentations conclude a 9 month long research project that was done while also completing a 3rd year internship, and is the last step to completing their requirements for the conservation program.
