Alfonso's career at UCLA began in May 2011 in the department of Pediatric Cardiology as the Catheterization Coordinator. He was in this department for a little over 2 years. In 2013, he transferred to Adult Cardiology where he was the assistant to the Chair and managed the Cardiovascular Research Laboratories and later promoted to Operations Manager. In September 2019, he transferred to the department of Pathology and was the Operations Management Analyst. In his current role, he's moved to north campus and started a new chapter at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology.

Alfonso handles departments purchasing, reimbursements, honorariums, facilities request, trouble calls, renovations, and space inventory.

He is at the institute Monday through Wednesday and available remotely on Thursdays.
