Cotsen Institute Celebrates 50th Anniversary

The Cotsen Institute of Archaeology is marking its 50th anniversary with celebrations and reflections on its distinguished history, as well as with a special golden emblem. “With age comes wisdom, but also youthful new initiatives,” according to director Willeke Wendrich. She notes in her current “Director’s Message” that over the past 50 years “the premise remains the same: providing facilities for faculty, staff, and students and support for any of their initiatives that are worthwhile and innovative. At 50-years young, archaeology and conservation are firmly rooted in the present and looking towards a bright future.”
