Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • BA in English Literature, Journalism or similar field, and at least 2 years of writing and editing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for meeting Publications goals. (Required)
  • Ability to identify and obtain sources of funding and materials to support the Publications Unit and Institute. (Required)
  • Skill in budgeting management and projecting for future budgetary needs for the Publications Unit. (Required)
  • Skill in supervising and coordinating full-time, part-time, and student employees to insure correct management of the Publications Unit. (Required)
  • Interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and on-and-off campus media representatives. (Required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
  • Ability to discuss and summarize faculty and staff research projects. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer software design, and instructional applications. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner. (Required)
  • Experience with electronic and Open Access publication (Preferred)


Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree BA in English Literature, Journalism or similar field, and at least 2 years of writing and editing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required) 


Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
