Celebrating International Archaeology Day 2021 with the CIoA

International Archaeology Day was October 16, 2021! Throughout the month of October, this celebration of archaeology and its contributions to society were highlighted at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA in several special ways. We compiled a collection of recorded lectures, resources, and events to show what archaeology is really about. We created self-guided virtual tours of some of the Cotsen Institute laboratories. Unique opportunities ranged from a chance to explore exhibits from excavations abroad to viewing the details discovered under our microscopes.

Helping us to ring in International Archaeology Day was a special online presentation on the archaeology of Greece by Vassilis Lambrinoudakis, professor emeritus of Classical Archaeology at the University of Athens (click here for details on the event).
