The History and Archaeology of Jaffa 2

Since 2007 the Jaffa Cultural Heritage Project, under the direction of Aaron A. Burke and Martin Peilstöcker, has endeavored to bring to light the vast archaeological and historical record of the site of Jaffa, Israel. Continuing the effort begun with The History and Archaeology of Jaffa 1, this volume represents a decade of fieldwork and analysis by the Jaffa Cultural Heritage Project and the publication of several projects begun earlier.

Archaeology of Solvieux: An Upper Paleolithic Open Air Site in France

Few open-air sites of this age have the same extent, complexity and diversity of deposits, as was found at the site of Solvieux in South-west France. The complexities of the site and the intensity of the archaeological investigation called for new and novel methodologies to be devised which are discussed in detail. The history of the project, methodologies, results and analysis of finds are complemented by a large number of drawings, outlines of typologies and essays on Upper Palaeolithic traditions and the contribution of the Solvieux results in this regard.

Chinese Archaeological Abstracts, Vol. 4: Post Han

Chinese Archaeological Abstracts 4 completes the account of what transpired during the decade of Chinese archaeology from 1972 to 1981. A compilation of abstracts of over 140 articles appearing in Wenwu and Kaogu during this period, it describes excavations ranging from Six Dynasties through Post-Tang. Examples of the wide variety of archaeological investigations covered include Jin and Southern Dynasty tombs at Machang and Yixamg, Northern Wei lacquer screen painting and embroideries, and changes in the plan of the old city of Beijing.

Chinese Archaeological Abstracts, Vol. 3: Eastern Zhou to Han

Chinese Archaeological Abstracts 3 continues the account of what transpired during the decade of Chinese archaeology from 1972 to 1981. Containing absracts of over 130 articles appearing in Wenwu and Kaogu during this period, it is arranged in chronological order and describes excavations ranging from Eastern Zhou, Chunqin, and Warring States through Qin-Han. These abstracts cover a wide scope of studies, including excavations at the imperials city of the Chu at Yicheng, Han silk painting, and tombs of the Cao Cao lineage in Bo County.
